The Winding

The sixth volume in the Three Trees Tarot universe, The Winding follows a small spider who leaves the safety of an old wooden shed to explore the forest — and eventually the village — beyond. Created by Stephanie Burrows with illustrations by Adam Oehlers, this deck continues the storytelling world first introduced in Heartwood, centred this time on themes of courage, curiosity, and finding your way one step at a time.

The Major Arcana follows the spider's journey through the forest using the classic Rider-Waite-Smith archetypes, while the Minor Arcana shifts into quiet village scenes — lanes, doorsteps, market stalls, and windowsills — built more on atmosphere and visual storytelling than literal suit symbols, inviting a slower and more intuitive reading style. This 78-card deck (plus two protective blank cards and bonus first-printing cards) is printed on FSC-certified, carbon-balanced paper with vegetable-based inks and a matte laminate finish, packaged in a letterpress-illustrated woodland box with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity and digital PDF guidebook.
